Whats in the wrapping?

For some reason things are just a little better when they come in pretty wrapping. I think it is mainly due to the fact that it shows that someone cared enough to take the time to make it a little prettier, just for you. Or at least that is how I felt as I watched the lovely saleswomen at Arthropologie carefully wrap the tights I had just purchased.

I love the simplistic look of the colors and writing in both of these bags.
The tights I bought I love the simple color detail in them.

Shirt I bought from Kansas City Kitty a really cute boutique in old town Fort Collins. They also have a blog.

The Perfect Practical Shoe

Winter in Rexburg, ID is less than fashion friendly and I have often been seen walking to class in ridiculous outfits that were not quite suited for the weather. My footwear in particular has proven particularly troublesome due to the fact that cute boots and heels often do not include traction, leading to numerous, not so graceful falls. One such fall was the cause of a broken laptop, which finally lead me to the decision that something had to change. With this resolution in mind I came back to Colorado determined to find a shoe that could meet my needs and had a little bit of style, naturally.

The solution came at JAX where I found these Bog boots. With the help of a charming salesmen, I slowly came to find that these boot seemed to be the solution to my dilemma. They had the utilitarian charm I was looking for, traction, and are insulated up to -20 degrees. Hopefully they will stand up to "Icebergs" weather!

The Classics

This is just a quick outfit post, hopefully I will be able to continually post these as school starts. This post was inspired by the classics: pearls, pencil skirt, and black lace tights.

Give me moments not hours

Here is the video I made of my Europe trip last April and May. It is the first video I have ever made so some of the recording is not that great. It is kinda long and basically just captures some of the moments of the trip with amazing music and some pictures that I took. Hope you guys enjoy! I am going to try to put together another video soon, it is something I really enjoy doing. Would love to here what you think of it!

I'm back

So it seems I cannot quite keep up the blogging, maybe third try is the charm. This time I have a little inspiration from a couple friends and the stats tab on blogger (that for some reason I just found out existed) to encourage me. I have some exciting ideas for some new posts that include another DIY post and possibly a video if I find the time this break. The outfit pictures are of an old outfit I have been meaning to post. Here is a sneak peek at the DIY project!

Tied in knots

This is a fun outfit I put together last week. The outfit was inspired by the tie which I got at a H&M in Vienna, Austria, as it is already a very strong piece I chose simple, classic black and white as a back drop for the tie. I borrowed the shirt from my roommate, one of the advantages of living with others. And had to look up how to tie a tie on you tube, I am starting to get better at it just need to get more ties!

A Little Late Fashion Break

Dona Kara

School has started my life is so crazy but I love it I am learning how to become a Chemist and I love every minute of it, and living the college life I have always dreamed off. This has meant sacrificing some good things to achieve greater goals. Some of these good things include my fashion blogs, Grey's Anatomy, and Gossip Girl. But on a more exciting note, a few days ago I took a break and saw that people had commented on my last post! I don't know if any of you are still reading but thank you, it made my week.

Now one to the actual post, which is a week late considering it is London fashion week now. New York fall fashion week! For those of you who don't know New York fall fashion week is not fall fashion it is actually designers collections for spring 2010. These shows are the basis of the ready to wear and other lines by the designer. These deigns are then copied, changed, and refined and spread to the general public over time. I learned this two years ago when I first started following fashion shows. It is so much fun to understand were the clothing that you see everyday comes from.

These photos are the pieces and looks that I absolutely loved from New York fashion week.
I did not know she had a line but I liked the simplistic femininity of these dresses.

Love the colors and fabrics of these two.

Thakoon
I like the combination of the asymmetric stripes with a classic dress and fabric.

Rodate
Rodate is a brand created by two sisters, they are true artists.
Risto

Preen

Micheal Kohrs

I think I might try to recreate the look on the right except switch the colors.

For all those who made it this far I hope you enjoyed it, I have another outfit that I want to share with you some time soon, hopefully anyways!

All pictures were taken from New York Times Fashion website
